General Information

  • The New Jersey Department of Education and the New Jersey Coalition for Inclusive Education are pleased to announce the availability of free Technical Assistance, longer-term Systemic Change projects, leadership development events, and additional materials and resources to support inclusive education and to promote continuous improvement to increase positive outcomes for students with disabilities, ages 5-21.

    This grant focuses on Grades K through 12+. This grant focuses on Grades K through 12+ - The NJPIEP focuses on Preschool. Information about NJPIEP can be found here.

  • All NJ public K-12 schools, including Vocational/Technical schools and charter schools, that are interested in making school-wide changes, and that agree to make changes with their LRE rate. Schools that are below the state LRE target of 45% of students with disabilities included in general education classes 80% of the day or more will be considered first.

  • April 30, 2024

  • The full application is available online and must be submitted by the deadline to be considered for the grant.

  • There is one virtual information session on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 12 PM.

Application Process

  • Each school interested in applying must complete their online application for Systemic Change (SC), Technical Assistance (TA), or both.

    If there are several schools within the same district who would like to apply, a separate application is required for each school.

  • Schools must want to make changes in their school to increase inclusive practices and involvement in their schools.

    Schools must commit to the process and follow the guidelines set forth.

  • Applications can only be submitted online no later than April 30, 2024.

Review and Selection Process

  • The New Jersey Coalition for Inclusive Education and the New Jersey Department of Education will review all applications.

  • Applicants (the primary contact) will be notified in writing of acceptance before the end of the school year.
