Community of Practice

Meeting, training & discussion opportunity for administrators who are committed to Inclusive Education.

NJCIE's Community of Practice is open to administrators across the state of New Jersey. The program provides the opportunity to learn from experts in the field, ask questions, network, collaborate, and share best practices on how to create an inclusive learning environment. The Community of Practice also serves as a platform for professional development, helping New Jersey educators stay up-to-date on the latest trends in inclusive education. By connecting with professionals from across the state, members can gain a better understanding of the needs and challenges faced by educators in New Jersey. This can help to inform and improve the educational practices of all members, leading to improved outcomes for students. Community of Practice Meetings will be held three times per year in each region of New Jersey. Each meeting will be at 11 am- 1 pm.

At our April Community of Practice meetings we will welcome guest speaker, Kory Kutzler. Kory currently supervises one of the largest school-based partial hospitalization programs in Pennsylvania. He also oversees teachers and psychologists at the Northampton County Detention Center. Kory will share with us stories of his many personal traumas and significant losses and how this shifted his focus to mental health.  He collaborated with a colleague to develop a trauma-informed care professional development series for educators  Kory was featured on a PBS television series, discussing the importance of trauma-informed care.

To register for the meetings, please fill out the form. All meetings will cover the same topic.
