Inclusion Works! Poster Exhibition

This year, we asked public, charter, and vocational school students across New Jersey to create posters about how we can continue being inclusive of everyone during the COVID-19 pandemic for the 2020-21 Inclusion Works! Poster Contest. In other words, how can we be inclusive of people with disabilities and of different backgrounds in school (virtual or hybrid), in a setting where we are wearing masks and social distancing, or in a virtual environment?

Posters illustrate why inclusion is important, what it means to the students, and what it looks like in a certain setting. We encouraged them to talk about their ideas with their friends, teachers, and family. Then, they sent us their own vision on how Inclusion Works.

Inclusive education is when ALL individuals are valued members of their community and have equal opportunities to reach their maximum potential. An inclusive school is one in which inclusion works and refers to a local public school where everyone feels accepted regardless of their learning challenges, differences, or disabilities.
