Dear Friends of NJCIE,
On July 1st Fred Buglione became the new CEO/President of NJCIE. I am writing to tell you that after eleven years, Paula Lieb is stepping down to have more time with family and to travel. You will continue to see Paula’s presence as the CEO Emeritus and as a Senior Consultant. There is no way to explain Paula’s dedication and devotion to the New Jersey Coalition for Inclusive Education. She has taken a small grassroots organization and molded NJCIE into the strong force for inclusive education it is today.
I am grateful to Paula for her many years of service and time dedicated to the organization. As President and Chief Executive Officer, Paula has done it all; public relations, fundraisers, trainings, human relations, grant writing, and more. There was never a task too large or too small. I wish Paula the very best!
It is with great pleasure that I introduce Fred Buglione. Approximately fifty applications were reviewed. Our Search Team came up with six criteria we hoped to find in one candidate. At each interview, we met people who had very impressive qualities, but not all of those on our list of criteria until we met Fred Buglione. He holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature from Queens College, and Master’s of Education in Instructional Design from the University of Massachusetts.
Fred has been an entrepreneur; he established and ran a technology consulting firm for many years and has up-to-date knowledge of educational technology. He spent many successful years in the New York City public school system as a teacher and later an administrator. He has experience in the nonprofit field where he was the Director of Education for a nonprofit specializing in instructing adult students with disabilities, and as an Educational Consultant where he provided strategic planning and program development expertise to educational nonprofits.
I have found Fred to be organized, eager to understand the history of NJCIE, fun to chat with, and ready to develop the organization forward. The best quality I have observed in Fred…he is innately inclusive! I look forward to working with Fred and watching him develop NJCIE to the next level.
Chair, NJCIE Board of Directors
