NJCIE’s 8th Annual INCLUSION WORKS! Poster Contest

The New Jersey Coalition for Inclusive Education is hosting its 7th Annual Inclusion Works Poster Contest. The contest is sponsored by the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association, and open to NJ public school students in grades 1-12. The poster contest will kick off on December 5th as a way to celebrate National Inclusive Schools Week. The contest will run from December 5th,2016 – April 1st, 2017.

For seven years now, NJCIE has organized a poster contest in which public school children from across the state compete. Each year the poster contest has a similar goal; to teach students the importance of inclusive education. For NJCIE’s 8th Annual Poster Contest, we want poster contest participants to illustrate how INCLUSION WORKS.

When ALL students are included everyone SHINES!

Awards will be given out to four category winners:

Category one: grades 1-5

Category two: grades 6-8

Category three: 9-12

Category four: a collaboration of students, one of whom has a disability

Category five: Students with disabilities in a Transition Program

Please help support Inclusive Education by having your students participate in this year’s contest

Time to Shine: Create an original poster illustrating this year’s theme, “Inclusion Works!” Show us why inclusion is important, what it means to you, what it looks like in your school, on the playground, in the classroom, on the school bus. Talk about your ideas with your friends, teachers, family & send us your own vision on how Inclusion Works.

Criteria:Original artwork must be completed by a student(s) attending a public school within a local school district. Must be a two dimension painting, drawing, collage or combination, in color or black & white

Post MUST have a label that includes:

  • Artist(s) name
  • School name & address
  • Grade
  • School contact person’s name
  • School contact person’s phone number & email address

*If all label information is not included and legible, the poster will not be considered

Submissions: Please send in a flat envelope; multiple posters may be submitted in one envelope. Do not roll, fold, mount, frame or laminate. Posters must be received by noon April 1st, 2016. Late submissions will not be considered. Submissions will not be returned; all submissions become the property of NJCIE; no compensation will be provided.
